This belief is exemplified by our collaboration with Decathlon on the Modesty Swimwear Collection, which demonstrates the effectiveness of combining cultural awareness with technical knowledge in bridging the gap for millions of women in Southeast Asia, proving that "Sport for All" is not just a slogan but an achievable reality.
In Southeast Asia, there are approximately 130 million Muslim women, but only about 38 million know how to swim. A significant barrier has been the lack of appropriate sportswear. Influenced by religious and cultural values, many Muslim women choose modest clothing that covers the body and hair (hijab) as a symbol of humility.
The Deeper Meaning behind our Modesty Collection
The Modesty Decathlon collection was born from a desire to promote integration in sports. It opens opportunities for Muslim women to access water activities with complete comfort and confidence.
The "Hero Product" of this collection is a set comprising a two-piece swimsuit and a hijab (which can also be sold separately). Unlike standard swimwear, the Modesty line ensures full coverage while maintaining high performance. It solves the difficult equation of being lightweight enough for swimming yet opaque enough to provide the necessary modesty.
Scavi x Decathlon: More than 10 years partnership
This project marked a significant milestone - a more than 10-year strategic partnership between Scavi and Decathlon. It was not a traditional "order and make" process - it was a true co-development journey.
Scavi was involved in every step of the product lifecycle alongside Decathlon, from ideation to execution, where we co-developed the technical specifications, form, and materials. This process included 3D catwalks, fitting sessions with Scavi’s own models, and movement testing in Scavi’s pools to ensure the product performed perfectly in real-world conditions. Maintaining our “P3 Responsibility” with nearly 40 years of experience, Scavi produced these items in our EDGE-certified green factories, reflecting our commitment not just to international quality standards, but to sustainable consumption trends in Southeast Asia.
