Our Chairman Founder
Phu TRAN VAN
Mr. Phu TRAN VAN is a prominent French entrepreneur and the Chairman and Founder of both B'Lao Social Fund and B'Lao Group. Guided by the Group’s core value - Responsible Heart, he leads the Group in shaping a strategic vision across multiple sectors.
An inspiring pioneer
From an early age, Mr. Phu TRAN VAN demonstrated self-discipline, independence, and a strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
Arriving in France in 1975 with empty pockets, at the age of 20, during the post-war economic boom, he began working immediately, thanks to a job contract he secured on the flight to Paris.
At the age of 23, he led a team of 15 people in a subsidiary of a rapidly growing group operating in the industrial and construction materials sector in Senlis.
By the age of 27, he had joined the group’s headquarters, leading Finance, External Growth, and the integration of acquisitions.
Despite a stable corporate career, he decided to establish his own business by launching a startup specialized in the lingerie industry in France in 1988 when he was 33 years old. This startup, which eventually became the B’Lao Group, established the first foreign-invested enterprise in Vietnam – Scavi in the same year.
A legacy of Care & Commitment
The founder’s parents who were teachers in Bao Loc city (formerly B’Lao), devoted their whole life to education and wanted him to engage in lifetime education. Convinced by life experiences, Mr. Phu Tran Van furthered this system of values where social performance is at the root of economic performance. These two performances feed each others, being the two complementary forces of the same ambition: give back to the community through lifetime education.
In 2017, Mr. Phu Tran Van established the B’Lao Social Fund, dedicated to lifetime education, with the mission of preserving, transmitting, and nurturing the value of the “Responsible Heart” throughout each person’s life.
As per his will, upon his passing, all of his shares in the B’Lao Group will be fully transferred to the B’Lao Social Fund, ensuring its continued control over the Group.
The structure is designed so that the B’Lao Social Fund continually ensures that the strategy and actions of the B’Lao Industrial Group are always guided by the “Responsible Heart.” Everything is interconnected.
Passing on the value of “Responsible Heart”
Mr. Phu TRAN VAN is dedicated to driving meaningful societal initiatives with conviction. His book, “Restart France and Europe – The Resolute Democracy” (“Faire repartir la France et l’Europe-La Démocratie volontaire”), published by Cherche-Midi in 2011, was awarded the Cresus Prize the same year at the French National Assembly.
He firmly believes that the synergy between social and economic forces can guide organizations toward sustainable success when driven by a shared spirit of courage. With deep engagement, he regularly contributes to media discourse and academic forums, delivering insightful and widely appreciated conferences.
